Nearly half of Spanish workers (49%) already interact with AI or automation technologies in their work environment

Nearly 80% of workers in Spain believe that artificial intelligence or automation will lead to the emergence of new professions related to the development, design, management or maintenance of these technologies. This is reflected in the study “Education and Employment in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Automation,” Developed by 40 dB.

Along these lines, the report indicates that 49% confirm that they already have contact with artificial intelligence or automation technologies in their jobs, even if it is not the main focus of their tasks. This includes using these technologies to support your business or in roles directly related to developing, maintaining or implementing artificial intelligence or automation technologies.

Specifically, 24% work in jobs that involve both AI and automation, while 10% have positions exclusively related to automation, and 14% consider their work solely related to AI. Some examples of jobs directly related to AI include highly specialized hardware and software engineering, machine learning, machine design and robotics specializations.

Hybrid workspaces to increase productivity, efficiency and security

Advances driven by artificial intelligence and automation are transforming the work environment into a hybrid space, where machines and people collaborate to achieve greater productivity, efficiency, and safety. In this sense, the study data reflects a positive perception in Spanish society: 60.6% consider artificial intelligence a positive thing, and in the case of automation this percentage rises to 66.6%.

On the other hand, the study reveals that the majority of professionals working in fields related to automation or artificial intelligence have acquired knowledge through various means:

– Vocational training: 39% were trained through vocational training courses.

– Postgraduate studies: 34% obtained their training through university study.

– Business programs: 27% participated in training programs organized by their companies.

Likewise, more than half of survey respondents (52%) consider it necessary to continue training in artificial intelligence or automation to ensure their future employment. However, only 32% confirmed that their companies implement specific training programs in these areas.
