Last Sunday, the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister met with the Iranian President, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, where they agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral relations in the face of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US government.
In this sense, Moncada later emphasized that the relations between the two countries are cordial, inclusive and anti-imperialist while asserting that Managua believed in “multilateral friendship, peace, security and progress”.
Likewise, the Nicaraguan High Diplomatic Representative held a meeting with the Speaker of the Persian Parliament, Muhammad Bagher Qalibaf, during which they discussed the consolidation of relations in the economic, agricultural, energy and technological fields.
Similarly, Moncada met with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdullah, where a comprehensive cooperation agreement was signed in order to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
At the invitation of the Persian president, the foreign minister participated in the third dialogue forum in Tehran, at which he noted that “the United States of America and its hegemony is in sharp decline.”
In line with this, Moncada pointed out that the system of international relations is moving towards the development of pluralism and the consolidation of independent states.
Nicaragua and Iran officially established bilateral diplomatic relations in 1979. Since then, the sanctions imposed by the White House have become a point of contact for strengthening relations.
