The Japanese, who played for the Los Angeles Angels last season, becomes a first-team all-MLB 2023 starter and designated hitter.
LAS VEGAS – Japan’s Shohei Ohtani has finished out 2023 as the top star on the 2023 MLB teams announced Saturday that he has been named a starter and designated hitter for the first team.
Ohtani played for the Los Angeles Angels in the 2023 season, and in recent days he signed the largest contract in history in 10 years, worth $700 million, with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The designation is given to all MLB teams since 2019 and does not take into account all players from both major leagues and the first and second teams.
