Puerto Rican Merenguera Olga Tanyon on Friday released two versions in Merengue of the songs “Brujeria” and “Achillipú,” titled “Brujeria con Chilli,” which will be included on her upcoming album, Tannion Pal “Combo,” dedicated to the legendary salsa orchestra El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. .
The orchestra’s tribute to its director and co-founder Rafael Ether will include six songs, the rest being “Rice with Beans”, “No Bed for Many People”, “Jala Gala” and “Los Tenes”.
“I was able to realize another of my dreams: to be able to translate and produce hit songs from Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, and to choose my favorite songs and from thousands, known worldwide thanks to Gran Combo,” Tannion said in a newspaper. release.
“Gratitude is expressed in life for this, my gratitude for this humble act of Mr. Rafael Ithier, to all past and present members of Gran Combo, and to all members of the industry who made this possible. This production is on fire (unbelievable),” said Tanyon.
To achieve this production, Tanyon reached a landmark agreement with the record companies that own the rights to these orchestral hit songs.
The album was produced in Puerto Rico, the United States, and Colombia.
In turn, Tanion will sing on Saturday in Boquerón, a strip in the municipality of Cabo Rojo located on the southwest coast of Puerto Rico, where he will sing songs for his new album.
“I wanted to choose Boquerón for this project, because I wanted to show places with different meanings. This will be the first time an album will be presented to the public and it will be recorded on video,” Tannion said.
