BALTIMORE – Dean Kramer joined four players in a five-stroke game, as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Los Angeles Angels 1-0 on Saturday to claim their seventh straight win for the first time in five years.
Angels coach Phil Nevin is back after being suspended for 10 matches. He traded squad cards before the game with his son, Tyler, the Orioles’ third starting starting player. Tyler went 1 for 2 with a walk.
Baltimore is in the midst of its longest winning streak since winning seven straight from August 7-13, 2017. The Orioles are aged 28-20 after starting 14-24 and 3 1/2 games off the wild card.
At 42-44, there were two games below 0.500 for the first time since April 11, when they went 1-3.
The Angels dropped to 1-7 in their current nine wild ride. They are 14-35 since the start of the year 24-13 and have only had 14 times in their last eight matches.
Cramer (3-1) allowed two hits and three walks in five runs. He tied his career to seven hits.
