HAVANA, Aug 12 (ACN) Six days after a fire broke out in a crude oil tank at Matanzas Supertanker base, messages of support are still arriving from lawmakers and parliamentarians from around the world.
It was also published on the website of National AssemblyThe World Council and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace expressed their respect and admiration for the work of the relief agencies that took the initiative to prevent further material damage and human loss.
Guillermo Daniel Ortega Reyes, President of the Central American Parliament and its Board of Directors, called on the international community to show its support for the efforts made during the accident, and praised the efforts of the relief forces, as well as the solidarity support of the sister countries of Mexico and Venezuela.
The People’s National Assembly of Guinea-Bissau and the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation expressed their solidarity with the Government and people of Cuba in the face of the disaster.
MP Elshad Mirbeshiroglu, Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group between Azerbaijan and Cuba, expressed his support for the friendly people of the Antillean nation, his condolences to the families, and his wishes for a speedy recovery of the injured.
The MEPs, Costas Papadakis and Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos, expressed their strong solidarity in the efforts to overcome the problems caused by the accident.
