Inter Miami (16W-4L-5E) will host FC Cincinnati who currently sit first in the Supporters’ Shield standings with 53 points (four more than the second-placed team) and lead the league in goals scored with 56 (five more than the next team).

Forward Leonardo Campana and captain Lionel Messi are the club’s all-time leading scorers, with Campana on 29 goals in all competitions (25 in MLS) and Messi on 25 (13 in MLS). Campana is currently tied with former striker Gonzalo Higuain, who scored 29 goals for Inter Miami (all in MLS). Meanwhile, versatile forward Robert Taylor leads the team with the most assists in club history with 21 in all competitions (14 in MLS), followed by Messi with 20 (15 in MLS).

Goalkeeper Drake Callender and Taylor are the two players with the most appearances in Inter Miami history with 104 and 103 respectively in all competitions. In terms of MLS appearances, Taylor is first with 83 appearances (one in the postseason), while Callender is second with 82 appearances (one in the postseason). Furthermore, Campana is the third-most appearance maker for Inter Miami with 91 appearances in all competitions and is closing in on the 100-game mark.

Inter Miami and FC Cincinnati have met 10 times before, with a record of five wins, four losses and one draw for the club.

Saturday’s match could see a reunion of two former Inter Miami players. Current FC Cincinnati defenders Alvas Powell and DeAndre Yedlin could face their former team after being Inter Miami players in 2020 and 2022-24, respectively.

The 2023 Supporters’ Shield winners will visit South Florida after losing 3-1 away to NYRB in their final regular season match on July 20. In total, Cincinnati has 15 wins, seven losses and three draws for a total of 48 points and sits second behind Inter Miami in the Eastern Conference standings.
