Princess Cruises has revealed the details of its new ship, the Sun Princess. This will be the company’s largest ship: with a capacity of 4,300 guests, it will feature stunning views, innovative entertainment areas, multi-storey restaurants and luxury accommodations. Returning to the venerable Sun Princess, the ship will remain true to its smooth, clean lines and design beauty inspired by the Princess’s iconic mermaid.
Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard and due for launch in February 2024, the 175,500-ton vessel is the largest princess ship ever built and embraces Italian heritage with the iconic Piazza display and new exclusivity “The Dome”, a groundbreaking entertainment space inspired by the terraces Santorini. The Sun Princess will also display the exclusive Princess Medal, which will further enhance the Princess’ leadership position in providing exceptional personalized experiences.
The ship will do the inaugural Mediterranean season in spring/summer beginning in February 2024, followed by western and eastern Caribbean cruises from Port Everglades, Florida in the fall of 2024.
“Sun Princess was born on a new ship platform specifically designed to embrace the Princess’ heritage while simultaneously pushing boldly into the future with sleek, clean and distinctive lines unique to our brand,” said John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises.
