One of the issues that most worries Colombians and that has divided the political sectors is the health reform that will reach this year the Congress of the Republic, although there is no set date yet.

In fact, several parties have declared that they will not support a reform that would harm the health system, but they are really talking about assumptions because the articles are not yet known and, according to Minister Carolina Corcho, there is no certainty when this will be stipulated. to be known.

The main issue is that Minister Corco has said in different scenarios that health reform has been sufficiently socialized with different sectors, even recently in Congress he said “No reform in the Republican history of Colombia has been more discussed than correctness, Without having been submitted to the Congress of the Republic, which will be the democratic scenario for coordination and public debate and where there will be an opportunity to reopen public hearings in decision scenarios.

These statements sparked outrage because no one knows to whom the health reform was socialized.

“We have made every effort, even without submission, to discuss this reform as widely as possible through the various public hearings held by the Congress of the Republic, With the broad participation of all actors in the health system in the various regions.”

However, SEMANA learned about an audio clip where Minister Corcho acknowledges that the health reform text is not ready, so it is not understood, what made the head of the health file social.

“There is too much sensitivity, no fair discussion and that is why we will wait until the articles are complete for social communication. When it is completed it will be announced, and you have confidence that this is being done responsibly,” And the minister said this Tuesday at an event she held and revealed, as it was said in the days of the government of Juan Manuel Santos, “such a reform does not exist” yet.

In his speech, Curcho said that the Petro government had not previously published parts of the articles “Public confidence, that is, we are finalizing with (the Ministry of) Finance and the DNP the issue of economy and planning. That is why the presentation has not taken place so as not to generate uncertainty.”

What is remarkable is that the minister talks about not causing uncertainty while the reality of what is in the country at this time is due to a lack of knowledge regarding health reform.

In addition, he said that there is no certainty of filing because the priority will be given to the National Development Plan. It should be done well, and the repair content will be delivered later. The decision on whether to publish the articles prior to filing or whether to file them first and then disclose them is now in the hands of President Gustavo Petro.

What is remarkable about it is that it is not known what the minister referred to when she said that the initiative is the most social because sectors are unaware of its content. Although Minister Corcho wanted to calm down at the meeting she was in on Tuesday morning, she achieved the opposite effect because there were more doubts than certainties about that initiative.

“The government cannot release a draft every eight days to show changes. The basics of reform are the ones we have discussed with different sectors but the latest version is not available yet. Thus, in the next few days, the exact date for the introduction of the sanitary reform will be known, which, according to the minister, will be on the desk of President Petro, who will have the last word on it.
