SalamAir has placed an order for 12 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft

SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost airline, has signed an agreement to integrate six Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and an option for six more machines. The agreement involves an investment of just over $934 million. The machines will be delivered in a 135-seat configuration in two classes, starting at the end of 2023. The aircraft will grow to become an essential part of our fleet. It is exciting for us to be the first airline in the Middle East to fly the amazing E195-E2. The new fleet will initially be used for domestic flights, including 4 oil fields and 4 international airports within Oman, as we receive more aircraft that we will be able to use at regional airports in neighboring countries that are not connected to the Sultanate of Oman today,” said Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO. “It is fantastic to grow in the Middle East, a region that often focuses on long-haul travel. It is also important for Embraer to see a leading low-cost airline such as SalamAir recognizes the value that E-Jets offer in the LCC arena, complementing larger narrow-body aircraft to grow and maintain networks.”
