Super Smash Bros., is one of the titles with one of the healthiest competitive scenes in the industry. However, over the years Nintendo hasn’t shown much interest in running professional tournaments. So it was the community itself that organized these events. Fortunately, this scenario may be close to changing.
What happens is that e-sports brand Panda Globar has taken to its social networks to announce its association with Nintendo to carry out a series of tournaments that will revolve around Super Smash.
Panda is proud to announce that we will be running the first officially licensed gaming championship circuit! Super Smash Bros Ultimate y Super Smash Bros. This short series of North American events will begin in 2022 and lead to a single tournament with cash prizes for the contestants in each title,” we can read in press release.
Although not many details have been specified about the event, it is known that there will be qualifying rounds online and in person. It was also confirmed that the event would allow international participation. However, the dates, requirements and where to see the competition are not yet known, but we already know that a professional Super Smash Bros. circuit is on the way.
