The Bogota Health Secretariat is appointing new directors for the North and South subnetworks

Victoria Eugenia Martinez Puello is a nurse who graduated from the University of Cartagena with a Master’s degree in Quality of Health Services and specializations in Health Services Management, Epidemiology and Occupational Health. He has more than 25 years of experience in positions in the public and private sectors.

He has served as Director of the Crecer Clinic in Cartagena de Indias, at Asociación Mutual Ser Regional Bogotá, and at the Southwestern Subnetwork and Hospital Vista Hermosa. In addition, he led the health services sub-departments of the Middle East Sub-Network, Rafael Uribe Uribe Hospital and San Blas Hospital. He has also served as Head of the Promotion and Prevention Department of the Bolivar District Health Secretariat.

Her extensive experience and academic training have qualified her to face the challenges and responsibilities in the field of health services management, as she is distinguished by her commitment to quality and continuous improvement in health care.

Viviana Marcela Clavijo – New Director of the Southern Sub-Network

Viviana Marcela Clavijo is a nurse who graduated from the University of Health Sciences Foundation, with a major in Public Health Management from the Universidad del Rosario. He holds two Master’s degrees: one in Health Business Administration from EAN University and the other in International Public Health with a focus on Health from the University of Pamplona, ​​Spain.

With extensive experience in public and clinical health management, his career has focused on the management of health institutions of level 1 and 2 complexity. It has made important progress in expanding the scope of service delivery, strengthening mandatory system operations in terms of assurance and quality, ensuring the financial balance of entities and greatly improving the humanization and satisfaction of users.

He has held leadership positions as director of Hospitals Pedro León Alvarez Diaz de la Mesa, Hospital La Vega, and Hospital San Rafael de Caqueza. In addition, he worked in the Health Secretariat of the Government of Cundinamarca as leader of the TAES, IRA and EDA strategies for four years, and as leader of the Family Risk Program and the Expanded Program on Immunization for an additional three years.

Challenges that new managers will face

As of today, after their appointment by the Secretary, these professionals will be responsible for managing the services provided by health centers and hospitals in the towns Ciudad Bolívar, Tongoleto, Sumapas and Osme, in the south of the city, as well as in Osaquin, Chapinero, Suba, Ingátiva, Barrios Unidos and Teosacillo, in the north.

Likewise, they will be responsible for the legal representation of the two state social enterprises and must determine compliance with administrative, financial and operational policies and strategies. In addition, they will have the responsibility to implement an administrative reorganization that will strengthen the public network, ensuring quality, timely and humane health services to meet the needs of the population. This is one of the biggest challenges faced by the current administration under the “MAS-Wellbeing” regional health model.

During the inauguration of the new directors, the Regional Secretary of Health attacked the will of these two individuals to provide their services to the citizens and also showed his gratitude to Ana María Cobos and Alejandra Taborda, who were in charge of the two entities.
