The Cuban Chamber of Commerce expands its links with Spain – Escambray

The Cuban Chamber of Commerce diversified its relations with many of its counterparts in Spain, during a visit held on Monday with a business forum.

The delegation of the Caribbean island, headed by the President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Carricart, had fruitful exchanges with the Madrid entity in an event called “Market Perspectives and Challenges”.

In addition to signing a cooperation agreement in very practical terms, more than a hundred Spanish businessmen have discussed with their Cuban counterpart the prospects for intensifying relations in a wide range of areas, Caricart told Prensa Latina.

Previously, he held similar meetings in Extremadura and this Tuesday the Antilles largest delegation will travel to Barcelona with the same goals.

The cooperation agreement with the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services focuses on cooperation measures between the two countries, investment and exchange.

Carricarte and his counterpart in the capital of Spain, Angel Asensio, were responsible for signing the agreement.

Both directors promised to establish a permanent and systematic exchange of information, and to assist in the implementation of content and programs aimed at trade, tourism and services.

Likewise, they aspire to cooperate in organizing joint promotion work. Also participating in the talks are the First Vice President of the Chamber entity, Eva Serrano, and the Cuban Ambassador to Spain, Marcelino Medina.

In various presentations, Karikart and his delegation presented an x-ray of the business environment in the Caribbean country, investment possibilities for wholesale trade, priority projects or foreign investment in the food industry.

With Extremadura Avante, a group of public companies in the Junta de Extremadura, the relationship has been enriched, such as the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, promised to participate in the Havana International Fair in November, Caricarte told Prensa Latina.
