The DAX 40 fell 0.11% after hitting a yearly high

Frankfurt (Germany), April 17 (EFE). – The Frankfurt Selective Index closed Monday with a decrease of 0.11%, due to taking profits, after reaching the annual maximum in the early stages of trading.

The DAX 40 index lost 0.11%, to 15,789.53 points, while the TecDAX technology index rose 0.16%, to 3,321.21 points.

The New York Fed’s Empire State Manufacturing Index, which measures conditions in the manufacturing sector in New York state, rose strongly in April and is in positive territory, indicating industry growth in this region.

Investors booked profits as both banks and reinsurers rose last week.

Commerzbank fell 3.5% to 10 euros, Münchener Rück fell 2.6%, to 324.70 euros, Hanover Rock lost 2.6%, to 179.60 euros, and Deutsche Bank lost 2.2%, to 9.73 euros.

Sporting goods maker Adidas fell 1.8 percent to 162.58 euros.

Aircraft engine maker MTU Aero Engines rose 2.5% to 234.60 euros, and Airbus Group (EADS) rose 1.5% to 128.10 euros. EFE
