Name changes in two professional Spanish football competitions. Once the agreement with Banco de Santander is finalized, the American video game company Electronic Arts will be the company that will sponsor both tournaments next season. The first division will be called LaLiga EA Sports and the second division will be called LaLiga Hypermotion”, which refers to the technology used in the football game of the new sponsor.
Taking advantage of the name change, LaLiga has carried out a renovation of its corporate image at all levels which also includes the logo, now there will be two letters in red on a white background, one larger than the other, stylized and italic. The motto has also been renewed from “It’s football, it’s LaLiga” to “The power of our football”. The new logo has a strong connotation against the Premier League.
“Today we begin a new era that will revolutionize both Spanish football and the industry. And we do this surrounded by clubs and strategic partners like EA Sports, without whom none of this would be possible. Together we want to offer better football to society and a better community for our football” confirmed Javier Tebas, President of the Federation.
This transformation, according to the employers’ association, involves “a significant evolution at the brand level, which has to do with its strategy and positioning, but which will also be reflected in something tangible such as audiovisual broadcasting or LaLiga’s digital ecosystem”.
During the presentation, LaLiga flexed its muscles as income from broadcast rights evolved from season 14-15, 860 million euros, to 2029 average from season 22-23 to 26-27. Central Sales is what allowed this growth. LaLiga also crept that against assurances that TV viewership had fallen, the data says it increased by 0.5%. They understand in LaLiga that the agreement with Electronic Arts allows them to better access the prestige of younger players, which is cited as one of the crowd’s vanishing points.
However, LaLiga has also revamped its match broadcasts, with new graphics that will make them more dynamic and lively. It also changes the use to be made of each of the cameras in search of new plans. “The overall goal of the innovations implemented in broadcasting is to be able to show new perspectives and angles, which, being enriched with information, leads to a more immersive viewing experience, much like a video game,” says LaLiga.
Commercial income also witnessed a significant increase. In this season, around 200 million euros were estimated at 58.7 from the 16-17 season.
“One of the goals of this transformation of the company is to provide the company with tools that better respond to the current reality of LaLiga, which is very different from what it was 10 years ago. For this reason, we seek to integrate the best partners in the process of transformation and revolution in the industry, to achieve our goals more strongly and continue to contribute in the industrial revolution.
