This time the appointment was in New Zealand. New Zealand exporters are very used to taking a long-haul flight, laptop in hand, to meet new customers, develop new customers, understand the market and develop their product or service. In less than a week, the global avocado trade community will descend on New Zealand for the 10th World Avocado Congress.

Eight days of workshops will take 760 delegates to South Auckland, Northland and the Bay of Plenty to visit plantations and warehouses, hear presentations and see New Zealand agtech companies in action.

“We’re going to showcase our amazing country, our farmers, our technology and of course our avocado industry,” says Jenn Schooler, CEO of New Zealand Avocado and Chair of the World Avocado Congress Committee.

New Zealand companies will showcase their products in the gardens, Plant and Food Research will present four topics under one tent at David French’s avocado and kiwi farm, and delegates will learn about the new MAF RODA technology installed at the Just Avocados warehouse in Kadikati. Delegates will be able to visit the estate of Maria and Andrew Watchhorn, New Zealand’s top growers over the last four years.

Domra Food will offer their Auckland facility as an additional networking opportunity before the Congress. At the Auckland show, New Zealand exporters will be exhibiting to 1,150 delegates from 32 countries, 750 of whom are from outside New Zealand. 35% of the delegates indicated that agriculture technology was the reason for attending this exhibition.

Adam Cuming, managing director of Radfords Software, says: “This is a fantastic opportunity to meet current and potential customers in our home country. We hope the show and conference will be great.”

Avoco’s Steve Trickett says farmers will have an opportunity to understand the global business they are involved in. They will receive hands-on presentations on global supply and demand, global production and marketing of avocados to consumers.

Learn, share and understand our customers, networks and scientists all over the world. The world: this exhibition has the potential to offer exciting and diverse opportunities. has, and we know our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and delegates will take advantage of this opportunity,” concludes Schooler.
