During the 30th Health and Pharmaceutical Forum of the National Association of Entrepreneurs of Colombia (ANDE), at the Cartagena de Indias Convention Center, More than 2,000 representatives of the health sector in the country discussed the current crisis that the system is going through.
Anwar Rodríguez, Vice President of Health at Andi, conducted an analysis of the health system in Colombia and pointed out that the structural problem plaguing this sector has not been solved and must be addressed comprehensively: structural financing.
He also noted that there is uncertainty due to the apparent deterioration of the system, which is reflected in aspects such as the intervention of 7 gangs that concentrate 53.3% of the population and 52.5% of the resources, and the fact that 3 more EPS have asked to withdraw voluntarily.
But he called for saving confidence in the sector. “We must regain the pride of belonging to the health sector, as well as the vision that distinguished us. This pride and vision has allowed us to come together and work as one to address the greatest health challenge of the last century during the pandemic. He now stressed that we must do the same to solve this new crisis.
Finally, he invited us to think and build proposals about the health system and said: “The reality of the health system is different from the one we have known and created for more than 30 years, but it is precisely in these moments of uncertainty when the opportunity for innovation arises. In this, Andy plays an essential role by providing an enabling environment for the development of ideas and solutions that advance this system.
More than 50 experts from the public, production and academic sectors will participate in this event, who will discuss the challenges and perspectives of the health system, over a period of three days.
