The Libertines have just announced the release of their album All is quiet in East Park With their new single “Run, Run, Run”. This will be the first work published by the British group since then Songs for distressed youth2015 LP.
Regarding the song, Karl Barat explained in a statement that it is about feeling trapped in your own life and trying to escape from it. “The worst thing that can happen to a band is to get stuck in a vicious circle, constantly trying to relive our past,” he said.
The group’s fourth album was produced by Dmitry Tykovoi and consists of 11 songs recorded in four weeks between February and March of this year. The album was created from contributions from all four members of The Libertines, an experience that for Pete Doherty was “a strange moment of peace and unity”.
“Our first album was born out of panic and disbelief that we were in the studio,” Barratt added. The second started from conflict and misery. The third was a product of complexity, and in this we finally seem to have been able to agree and feel connected.
All is quiet in East Park It will be available starting March 8, 2024, and fans who have previously saved the album will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to a pair of intimate shows that The Libertines will perform in December.
