On Monday, the results of the latest Multi-Scale, Numbers and Conceptual Survey were announced, according to which Colombians support the country’s health insurance system.
Despite the setbacks and failures of the EPS, as well as 13 of them liquidated, the research confirmed that 79% of Colombians consulted reject the idea of eliminating it.
Similarly, 85% of those surveyed indicated that they prefer EPS as a gateway to access health services.
In this regard, the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, spoke through his Twitter account, recalling these numbers and highlighting the management of his office.
“There is a lot of improvement in the EPS, but 79% of Colombians do not agree to get rid of it and 78% do not want to receive care from their municipal health secretariat”Head of the health file wrote.
Similarly, Ruiz Gómez asserted in his TV message that “there is almost 30 years of building a health system with universal coverage”.
The proposal to abolish the EPS system again appeared in public opinion after the discussions that took place in the presidential election campaign, where some candidates proposed a health reform that would eliminate the median number of these entities.
