On multilateral issues, such as the reform of the United Nations Security Council and the proposal for its reform presented by González Olechea.
The conversation also discussed cooperation in the Amazon region, the strengthening of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) and the initiatives proposed within the framework of the Brasilia Consensus.
Gonzalez-Olechea and Vieira also spoke about the South American Mechanism and the Action Plan to combat transnational organized crime.
The Peruvian Foreign Minister previously met with his Costa Rican counterpart, Arnoldo Andre, and they confirmed the excellent level of relations between the two countries, according to an official report.
The official report added that they agreed to continue strengthening dialogue, coordination and cooperation at the bilateral and regional levels.
On the other hand, Gonzalez Olechea met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Amiri A. Brown, and they agreed to deepen bilateral relations.
During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed regarding establishing the bilateral mechanism for political consultations between the two foreign ministries.
