The President of the Mozambican Parliament continues his visit to Vietnam

The day before, Esperanza Bias and its counterpart and host, Phuong Dinh Hue, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Inter-Legislative Cooperation, which includes a commitment to intensify traditional friendship and multilateral cooperation based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and respect.

The document was signed at the end of a meeting in which the head of the Vietnamese legislature highlighted the importance of the first visit to this Indo-Chinese country by a parliamentarian from Mozambique.

Dinh Hue said that Vietnam considers Mozambique one of the five countries in Africa with priority in strengthening relations in politics, diplomacy and economic cooperation now and in the near future.

He also urged strengthening cooperation and mutual support in running for international organizations, especially the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, and strengthening cooperation on the basis of agreements between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism and crimes.

The Vietnamese National Assembly speaker also called for further strengthening economic ties and trade, and expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate and exchange experiences in developing the health sector and epidemic prevention and control.

Meanwhile, Esperanca Bias thanked Vietnam for the support it provided to Mozambique, especially in the fight against Covid-19, as well as for electing that African country as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2023.2024 phase.

He also confirmed that during his five-day visit, which will conclude next Thursday, the accompanying delegation will hold meetings with companies to exchange investment and commercial opportunities.

The President of the Mozambican Legislative Assembly also met yesterday with the Chairman of the Federation of Vietnamese Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga, where she discussed with him the measures to be taken to speed up exchanges between the two peoples.
