In his presentation Singapore Seven, Las Pumas 7′s They didn’t get off to a good start, beating a celebratory Australia 26-19 in their Group A match. However, they managed to bounce back and defeat New Zealand with a resounding 33 for 5.
The next match is this Saturday at 3:48 AM against Canada.
Defeat against Australia
The Pumas 7s got off to a rough start as James Turner struck in the first game to put Australia in front. Santiago Mare replied minutes later but Santiago Alvarez was cautioned for a forehand and the Australians took a 12-5 lead with a goal from Ben Dowling not to be wasted.
In the second half, with Michael Hooper on the court, the Oceania men reinforced their dominance and increased the distance again through Nathan Lawson and Turner, while Matias Osatchuk and Gaston Revol eventually found clearances to at least add a defensive bonus.
A win against the All Blacks
In the opening stages of the first half, New Zealand showed all their strength and the first chance came through Regan Ware. But Las Pumas 7′s settled down, controlled the ball and took their chances. Before the break, Rodrigo Isgro managed to break the deadlock and in the next game German Schulz signed to level the piece at 12-5.
In the second phase, the Argentines maintained the initiative and managed to score again through Mendoza and Córdoba. Won the match 33-5.
