The Uruguay women’s national team called up 23 football players to play in two friendly matches against Venezuela as part of the FIFA date scheduled for next September.
La Celeste, led by Ariel Luongo, will face the Red Wines of Caracas on Thursday 21 and Monday 25 September.
For the last call in April, where Uruguay played and won two friendly matches against Peru, 15 players repeated. Members of the technical staff, football players from the local environment and activists in Argentina will travel to Venezuela next Tuesday, September 18, in the morning from Carrasco International Airport.
This year, with the 2024 Copa America as its main goal, Uruguay played five friendly matches, in which they achieved two victories (both against Peru in April) and three defeats (february losses to Norway, France and Denmark’s Tournoy de France). The last precedent between Uruguay and Venezuela was the match corresponding to the group stage in the 2022 Copa America, which Vinotinto won 1 to 0.
