The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, thanked Cuba today for its concern. To combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
After a meeting of the high-ranking official of the World Health Organization with the permanent representative of the island to the United Nations agencies in Geneva, Juan Antonio Quintanilla, the Caribbean nation’s investment in developing its health system to stop the spread of the Corona virus – 19 was confirmed.
According to a tweet from Ghebreyesus, at the meeting he also expressed his appreciation to Quintanilla for Cuba’s interest in developing its own vaccine production capabilities against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the cause of the aforementioned epidemic.

Cuba already has the Abdallah, Soprana 02 and Soprana Plus vaccines, registered with permission for their widespread emergency use among the population.
So far, 5,098,998 Cubans have received a first dose of some of their immunization devices, which represents 45.4% of the country’s population, an indicator of 32.9% in the world.
