He pointed out that “this digital tool, which has allowed citizens since 2013 to know their medical history with the click of a button, has been updated to provide a more modern, intuitive and practical platform.” He explained that since its implementation, the use of the health folder has increased, reaching more than 5 million users by more than 400,000 different users in 2023. He stressed that “these numbers reflect its importance and reinforce the health folder as the second most used non-face-to-face tool after telephone consultations.”
In this sense, he highlighted that in the first half of 2024, the usage data was “very positive” with 3,769,506 accesses to the volume by 427,437 different people. He added: “This suggests that at the end of 2024, it is very likely that the numbers recorded in 2023 will be exceeded.”
What the new version offers
“Rapid technological advancements and changing user needs prompted the creation of a new health folder with advanced computer architecture,” Osakiditza explained. “This update not only improves existing functionality, but also facilitates easier access and intuitive navigation, while always maintaining high standards of security and confidentiality.”
Among the new functions, the possibility will be opened, for example, to order and download radiological images of clinical quality and directly from the health folder (X-ray, CT, MRI) and nuclear medicine (scintigraphy, densitometry, PET-CT).
