About 200 people, including teachers, principals, and parents of private schools in San Pedro, El Dorado and Garuhabi, participated in trainings on a comprehensive approach to sexual and reproductive health from the perspective of persons with disabilities.
The training was provided by the responsible for the sexual and reproductive health program of the Ministry of Public Health, Lic. Norma Mino. This activity is part of a working agreement with the Directorate of Special Roads of the District Board of Education, responsible for Professor Liliana Santander jointly with the organizations Eva Perón with Mia Penayo and Mujeres Libres y Empoderadas with Lucia Velázquez, Juliana Barrios and Betzabe Lara.
The meetings dealt with topical axes such as the prevention of abuse and the correct use of various contraceptive methods in the short and long term, as well as explaining the care of children with disabilities to adolescents in order to exercise their sexual lives in a safe, responsible and enjoyable manner. In addition to the prevention of infections and sexual and reproductive rights.
In the three localities, a network has been established with district health teams in order to facilitate sheltered transitions and access counseling for adolescents with disabilities to generate self-protection and caring behaviors.
