CHICAGO — Jonah Heim hit a three-run homer one night after being involved in a controversial decision at the plate and the Texas Rangers beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3 Wednesday night.
Ezequiel’s turnover also continued as Texas earned its fourth win in five games. Martin Perez (7-3) pitched seven effective innings in his first win this month, while Will Smith got two games into his 14th save.
The NL West leaders bounced back from a disappointing 7-6 loss on Tuesday when Chicago scored the winning series in the eighth with three runs. Heim was penalized for illegally blocking the set on the replay, which resulted in DJ Reyburn’s reversal of the referee’s call.
Heim responded in the third game of the series. After hitting his 10th home run that led the Texans to a 6-1 lead in the fifth inning, Heim wrapped his hands over his ears as he rambled around the bases for the managers signal for a replay.
For the Rangers, Cuban Adulis Garcia scored 4-1 in one run. Dominican Ezequiel Duran 4-2 with a run scored and two RBIs, Leodi Taveras 4-0.
For the White Sox, Dominican Eloy Jimenez is 3-1 with an RBI. Venezuelan Elvis Andros, 3-0.
