A goalkeeper is expected to start Vegas Golden NightsThe team announced on Thursday that Robin Lehner will miss the entire 2022-23 season.
Lehner is said to have missed several games at the end of the 2021-22 season due to injury, and the Knights now say his hip will require surgery.
“A precise timeline for his recovery must be established,” Golden Knights said.
Lehner exited the 2021-22 season early due to injury. At the time, the team said they would undergo shoulder surgery due to an injury he sustained on February 9.
Logan Thompson took over as goalkeeper in Lehner’s absence.
VGK acquired Lehner in February 2020 and started 16 games with the Golden Knights during the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs. In October, the Knights signed him for a five-year contract extension with an average salary of $5 million per year.
