The Venezuela U-17 team, led by Ricardo Valino, played their first opener this Sunday. Type World Cup New Zealand beat New Zealand 3-0 in Group F at Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, Indonesia.

After a solid first 20 minutes without scoring, David Martinez scored the first goal for “La Vinodinto” in the 28th minute when he fired a shot from mid-range when he found the goal empty.
The scoreboard didn't move again for nearly the entire game until Leanne Romero; He came on for the injured David Martinez in the second half and scored the second goal three minutes from time.
It was Romero who then set up the third goal in the 6th minute of extra time to seal Venezuela's historic first win at the Men's U-17 World Cup.
This leaves Venezuela at the top of Group F with three points. Valino's next clash is at five o'clock on Wednesday morning; Venezuela time, against Mexico.
It is noteworthy that 'La Vinotinto' is the only one of the four teams representing CONMEBOL in this World Cup to win its first challenge. Well, Brazil and Argentina beat Iran and Senegal respectively, while Ecuador drew against hosts Indonesia.
