Description provided by the project team. This project was commissioned by an animation film director who needed space in his home to design pieces that he would use in his films. After touring the house, we decided that the roof slab would be the best space to house the new workshop. To provide access to the deck, we continued on an existing spiral staircase.
To ensure that the existing house does not add weight and also to have a faster construction, we chose prefabricated building systems, fabricated a light metal frame to support the metal tile covering with thermal and acoustic insulation, the walls are made of drywall closed externally with cement boards because they are exposed to the elements and internally with marine plywood boards because A more resistant material than traditional painted gypsum boards, the client was keen to exploit the space, internally the walls are filled with pets to ensure thermal insulation, and it is a sustainable material produced from recycling plastic components.
To take advantage of the view, the main facade has floor-to-ceiling windows, and on the back facade we have placed high windows to ensure cross-ventilation.
