Before hundreds of followers of the Sandinista National Liberation Front and more than 700 international guests, the Cuban leader asserted that Nicaragua had the right, earned through its struggle, to live in peace and without foreign interference.

“Nicaragua has the right to face its challenges through the work of its people and international cooperation,” Valdés commented, strongly rejecting the coercive and unilateral measures imposed by the United States and its allies against the Central American country.

In this sense, he stated that such actions affect the Nicaraguan population and constitute a clear interference in the country’s internal affairs.

Likewise, the Caribbean nation’s Deputy Prime Minister condemned “the blatant manipulation of Nicaraguan reality that seeks to distort the country’s image in flagrant disrespect for the people’s rights and self-determination.”

He added that the Sandinistas of Nicaragua are a nation of men and women who have been liberated through their tireless struggle for true independence.

Likewise, he highlighted the progress made on economic and social issues under the successful leadership of the Sandinista government headed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo.

In this regard, he pointed out that this experience allows Nicaragua to confront external aggression and destabilizing actions against the well-being and peace of mind of its citizens.

“Cuba is honored to be at the side of the Nicaraguan people throughout this struggle for liberation,” he said.

Valdés pointed out that 45 years ago, the Sandinista People’s Revolution triumphed, and brotherhood was consolidated between the two peoples and governments, based on respect, trust and mutual support.

He added: “On behalf of the Cuban people, I would like to thank Nicaragua for its solidarity, constant support and sincere friendship in the face of the challenges imposed on Cuba by the hostile policy of the United States, which has turned into a real economic war.” Compressed.

Likewise, he stressed that Cuba and Nicaragua need today more than ever the strength of their relations of friendship and solidarity, and reiterated that the two countries have great strength to move forward.

The Cuban hero pointed out that the two revolutions have the support of peoples who defend their right to self-determination and independence, and the example and guidance of their historical leaders who left a legacy of dignity and rebellion.

He stressed that they “enjoy the support of other sister countries that recognize the value and independence of Cuba and Nicaragua for integration and transition towards a more just and equitable world.”

Valdés stressed in his speech that Cuba and Nicaragua, which are more than two countries, are two brotherly peoples who share common principles, values ​​and ideals.
