Imagine going from building cars one by one to building them in less than a second. this is the way Goldman Sachs CIO, Marco ArgentiHe says his company and others now have to deal with the data. “This change means the organization has to move at a heartbeat,” he says.
In a lengthy interview with Forbes USAArgenti spoke about confidential computing, emphasizing that “data confidentiality in the cloud is guaranteed” — and the “unprecedented” leap in data analysiswhich could allow some of the company’s operations to be directed by artificial intelligence.
Along with the shift in the role of the engineer and the chief information officer, he argues that changes in technology are rewiring the way organization integration takes place.
In turn, he was the former CEO of Amazon Web Services He used his previous employer as an example to explain that just as AWS provides cloud computing services, we provide cloud financial services. “The shift from engineering as a support to providing outsourced services that generate recurring income is a shift,” he added.
What I also learned from Amazon is that customer obsession is something you have to measure and iterate based on how customers actually interact with the company.
Argentina is also inspired by his days in the nokia, But for a different reason. “Nokia taught me to be aware and alert to the shift in the industry,” he says, noting how quickly the company went from being the dominant smartphone maker to one struggling to stay in the game. “It’s about being alert and having a defiant mindset,” he argues. Goldman takes nothing for granted.
Although AI has the power to change, he argues, it is merely a co-pilot in executing a vision of where the company is headed. The potential biggest challenge for CIOs is helping their colleagues in the executive suite understand the fundamental change in the way information technology and data move through the business, and the need to adapt within seconds. As he says: “This year, more than ever, we really need to put technology at the heart of what we do.”
