WhatsApp is working on allowing users to make queries to its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Meta Assistant directly from the search bar in the Android app, to make the 'chatbot' and its results easier to access.
Meta AI is a “chatbot”-type assistant introduced by the Mark Zuckerberg-led company in September last year. It is based on the large language model Llama 2, accesses information in real-time and can interact with natural language through the company's various services and devices, including WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
In this sense, in recent months the instant messaging social network has added the Meta AI assistant to its functions within the “app”, so that it helps users interact with the platform and perform actions. .
As detailed by specialist media WaBetaInfo in November, users who have access to the Assistant function with the beta version of the social network for Android can start a conversation with a “chatbot” by tapping on the shortcut button located in the Chats tab.
Now, WhatsApp is working on a new option to improve the integration of Meta AI into the application, with the aim of allowing users to make queries to the assistant directly through the platform’s search bar.
This was announced by the same specialized media after analyzing the recent beta version of the 'app' for Android (version 2.24.7.14), in which WhatsApp includes Meta AI in the search bar, to eliminate the need to manually open a conversation with the 'chatbot' when making queries.
This way, users will be able to start a conversation simply by entering the questions they want to ask or the actions they want to perform in the search bar, and then, Meta AI will provide information related to what was requested in the search results.
Following this line, WhatsApp will also be able to suggest some instructions to help users initiate their inquiries to the Meta AI Assistant more easily. For example, according to WaBetaInfo, using Meta AI, users will be able to refer to information such as a “home renovation idea board” or “jokes about birds,” while asking for help to carry out a task in the “app.” Or perform actions such as opening chats, just by entering them in the search bar.
This is an improvement in WhatsApp's AI integration, allowing you to use the 'chatbot' more easily, as well as navigate the messaging app more efficiently.
