According to the latest data provided EU Milk Market ObservatoryIn September 2023, cow milk production decreased by 0.2% in the United States and 0.4% in New Zealand, with Australia and the United Kingdom both showing increases of 0.5 and 0.3% respectively.

Cow milk production in Australia: up 0.5%

In September 2023, Australia collected 826,000 tonnes of milk, up 0.5% from a year earlier.

Emphasize that September is the official start of the dairy campaign in that country.

Thus, in the overall total for the year, 2,097,000 tons have already been reached, which is 0.5% more than the 2,087,000 tons added in the previous year.

Underline that the sector is coming off two successive decline campaigns with output falling by 2.6% in 21/22 and 6% in 22/23.

New Zealand, down 0.4%

The official campaign in New Zealand starts in June. Figures show a 0.4% drop in collection in September 2023, with 2,497,000 tonnes leaving the milking parlors.

In the cumulative campaign, the decrease reaches 1%, from the previous 4,358,000 tons to the current 4,314,000 T.

As in Australia, the previous two campaigns painted a “red” color with a 3.5% drop in 21/22 and a 3.7% drop in 22/23.

In terms of cow milk production data from the United States, in September 2023, 8,260,000 tons were collected in the same month of 2022 compared to 10,000 tons less, which translates to a 0.2% percentage drop.

Despite this decrease, the overall figure for the year, taking into account that the campaign starts in September, increased by 0.2% to reach 77,553,000 million tons, gaining 200,000 t from the previous figures.

United Kingdom, a 0.3% increase

September 2023 data for the United Kingdom also presents an upward figure of 0.3%, receiving 1,172,000 tonnes of cow's milk and 13,000 tonnes by 2022.

Since the start of the campaign in April, there has been a growth of 0.3%, adding 7,799,000 T, which is 26,000 T more than the previous one.
