The General Secretariat for Migration, together with the Nortempo and Venancio Salcines Foundations, continues today in Switzerland, in the hands of the entity named Xeitosiñas of Zürich, the presentation tour of the new Galicia Returns 2026 strategy (ERG2026) across the different countries of the world with an important Galician presence. Training and permanent contract
The aim of the Retorna Cualifica Emprego program is to offer training and a permanent contract in Galicia so that 400 Galicians and Galicians trained from abroad will return to Galicia this year on a permanent contract, in addition to obtaining advice and tutelage on their new journey .. The Galician government will invest almost 4 million in this initiative with which a new step is taken to adapt the needs of the labor market to the labor it needs, which will allow the beneficiaries to return to their native lands with a contract of no less than 12 months and financial assistance to finance the initial expenses, both for the foreign trip to Galicia and for other institutions in the community.

This innovative initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Employment and the Promotion of Equality, will be implemented through the Nortempo and Venancio Salcines Foundations, the entities in charge of its management and whose representatives have provided details and requirements to participate in the programme.

Master’s degree in Galicia
The General Secretariat for Migration also maintains the application period for the Scholarships for Excellence for Young Foreigners (BEME), which offers scholarships between €7,500 and $12,000 for the best university records to Galician citizens abroad to study a master’s degree in Galicia. Interested persons will have until April 28th to apply for one of these scholarships.

Galicia’s return strategy 2023-26 doubles in terms of actions and budget than its predecessor, which was launched in 2018 and which “marked a turning point in the return policies implemented in Spain so far,” according to Miranda.
